I have been a mixed media artist for close to 20 years. As a self confessed paperaholic since I was a child, it only seemed natural for me to purse it in a big way. The creative process starts with an idea inspired by my love of gardening, scavenging for vintage finds and travels. My mind starts whizzing with ideas then a concept emerges, which is then expressed onto canvas, wood or paper. Scraps of paper make their way onto the surface as do paint, glue and crayon strokes. It's a fun messy process. By incorporating a variety of mediums into each piece, I am able to create a wonderful spontaneous element to my work. I have a special fondness for time worn elements with some historical purpose. Using these elements in my work, I create a special and unique interaction between vintage found object and contemporary painting. I am very excited to be partnering with the Lang Company and their creative staff. It is truly a blessing to be able to do what you love, and love what you do. Cheers! |
